14 01 2014

British author Lesley Pearse, whose books include Forgive Me, The Promise and Stolen, has been announced as the first ambassador for National Libraries Day, February 8.

The day aims to encourage the public to continue using libraries and the variety of services they offer, from book loans to homework clubs and advice on starting a business. Pearse commented 'To me libraries are one of the most important assets we have in the UK, and should be kept going at all costs... Libraries are vital. They are a primary source of knowledge and of entertainment. Books widen your world and teach you so much'.
